Update: Sorry to say the weather station is offline for the moment for upgrades. Check back for updates of register and I'll send you news. "Yonder sky has wept tears of compassion on our fathers for centuries untold, and which, to us, looks eternal, may change. Today it is fair, tomorrow it may be overcast with clouds. My words are like the stars that never set." Attributed to Chief Seattle, see the full speech here I'm delighted to announce the link up to our brand new weather station here in Allihies. Live data now flows from our own monitoring station every few minutes via the server in my office to, not only the Allihies.ie web site but also to the wider world via our page on the Weather Underground network (station ICORKCAS2). Click on the link on the top menu bar or on the left and you can view untold detail about what is happening right now in Allihies. The left side panel here on the front page also shows details of the sea conditions just off Mizen Hea, data is supplied from a Met Office weather buoy and from passing ships. It's very useful to have the sea temperature if you are heading for a swim! As ever any praise, apologies or corrections via the contact page please. Having had a scorching start to June we are hopeful (as ever) for a long hot summer. The main event is the August 15th 'Allihies Races' when the sight of horses and riders thundering round the field on the cliff top against the backdrop of sea and mountains is guaranteed to stir the heart.
